HOUSTON--The University of Houston concludes the final day of the Cougar Fall Draw Tournament held at the John E. Hoff Courts Sunday, and senior Vicky Simpson wins the Flight B Championship. After both Neila Starratt and Simpson posted wins on Saturday, they were forced to square off in the championships match of the Flight B. Simpson took the win 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore Lucy Forward played in the Flight A Consolation championship, but fell short to Southeastern Louisiana's Iva Velkovska 6-2, 6-2. For the Doubles Consolation Championship, senior Lynley Wasson and sophomore Joanna Kacprzyk defeated Eleonora Kuruc and Patricia Manzur from Sam Houston State, 8-3. Next Up The Cougars square off against Portland State on Jan. 23, in Portland, Ore to begin the 2009 season.
