Cougars Hard-Courters Set To Return To Action

HOUSTON, Texas - After a two-week lay-off, the University of Houston women's tennis team returns to action tomorrow afternoon, when the Cougars play host to New Mexico State. The match is set to begin at noon at the John E. Hoff Courts on the UH Campus.

The Cougars enter the match at 8-5, having last played on February 23 in Dallas against SMU. The nationally-ranked Mustangs shut out the Cougars, 7-0.

As for New Mexico State, the Aggies enter the match with an 8-3 mark. Like Houston, the Aggies have had a two-week layoff after knocking off Air Force, 5-2, on February 24 at home in Las Cruces.

The Cougars hold a 7-0 advantage against New Mexico State, including a 7-0 win over the Aggies on March 31, 2006, in Las Cruces. The last meeting in Houston occurred on February 25, 1984, when the Cougars blanked the Aggies, 9-0.

Houston will face Conference USA foe UCF on Monday, March 10.
