Women's Tennis Back in Action this Weekend

March 9, 2006

HOUSTON - The University of Houston tennis team moved up three spots to No. 67 in the latest rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

"This is our fifth consecutive week of being in the rankings," head coach John Severance said. "We've proven on a consistent basis that we can play with anyone, especially in a hostile environment. I'm extremely happy that the ITA is rewarding teams for winning on the road."

Houston has spent the last two weeks at No. 70 and is now the second highest ranked squad in Conference USA only behind SMU who is ranked No. 46.

The Cougars return to the courts Friday against Lee College. First serve is slated for 3pm at Hoff Courts. Fans can check out the action and watch the Cougars for free.
