Wednesday's Tennis Match Against Southeastern Louisiana Postponed
April 2, 2013
HOUSTON - Wednesday's tennis match between the University of Houston and Southeastern Louisiana has been postponed due to the threat of inclement weather. The match will be played at a future date to be announced.
The Cougars (12-7) will return to action following a two-week layoff when they travel to Tulsa this weekend to take on Louisville (Saturday) and the host-Golden Hurricane (Sunday).
Senior Maja Kazimieruk has been consistent in all phases in match play, posting a team-best 16-2 mark in singles play and a 14-2 record in doubles action with partner Celia Fraser. Kazimieruk has claimed six-straight singles victories while stringing together 12-consecutive wins with Fraser at the No. 3 doubles spot.
Fraser, a junior from Birmingham, England, has also been solid in singles play of late, claiming wins in six of the last nine matches. Fraser stepped up against tough competition in Houston's last two matches against No. 33 TCU and No. 44 William & Mary, splitting sets with No. 79 Olivia Smith of TCU in an unfinished match before outlasting the Tribe's Leena Nemchinov in three sets the following day.
