Cougar Tennis Falls to SMU 6-1
DALLAS -- The University of Houston women's tennis team was defeated by SMU 6-1 Sunday morning at the Haggar Tennis Stadium in Dallas. The Cougars are now 4-15 on the season.
Houston fell behind early, dropping the doubles point to the Mustangs. The duo of Sarah Flood and Karine Urbin won at No. 2 doubles, downing SMU's Patricia Ubeda-Diaz and Chrissie Terrill 8-3, for the Cougars.
In singles action, No. 69 ranked Sarah Borwell grabbed the sole UH victory when she defeated the Mustangs No.41 ranked Dee Dee Herring in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday, April 11, as they return home to play the final match of the regular season against the Baylor Bears. Match time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the UH Varsity Courts.
