HOUSTON - Head coach John Severance announced Friday the addition of Maja Kazimieruk to the University of Houston tennis roster. The Poznan, Poland, native will join the Cougars this fall and should provide an immediate impact on the court.

"I'm excited for her to join our program," said Secerance. "Her tennis skill set is very good and I have high expectations for her since she has performed as a top 10 player in Poland. I expect her to make an immediate impact for our team in both singles and doubles."

Kazimieruk, a right-handed player, has developed into one of her countries' finest young players, ranking in the national top 10.

She becomes the second native of Poland on the UH roster, joining Joanna Kacprzyk, who hails from Warsaw.
