HOUSTON - University of Houston women's tennis head coach Patrick Sullivan announced the upcoming fall tournament schedule for the 2013-14 season on Tuesday that features 12 tournaments against some of the nation's top competition.

Houston's fall tournament slate includes one home tournament, the annual Cougar Classic that will be held on Nov. 2-3 at John E. Hoff Courts.

The Cougars officially kick off the 2013-14 season on Sept. 20 when Houston will have split squads compete at the Little Rock Invitational in Little Rock, Ark., and the Islander Open in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Along with seven college tournaments, the Cougars will compete in five USTA events in Amelia Island, Fla., Hilton Head, S.C., Macon, Ga., New Braunfels, Texas, and Captiva Island, Fla.

The 2013-14 edition of Houston Tennis will feature three talented newcomers to the program in Despoina Vogasari (Athens, Greece), Maria Andrea Cardenas (Caracas, Venezuela) and Tina Rupert (Ljublijana, Slovenia). Sullivan's 2013 early signing period class ranked as tops among all mid-major programs and sixth nationally by TennisRecruiting.net.
