HOUSTON, Texas-The University of Houston women's tennis team won 2 out of 8 divisions at the UH Tennis Fall Classic this weekend. Schools that participated included SMU, Southwest Texas State, UTEP, UTSA, Texas Tech and Tulsa.

Cougar freshman Sarah Flood defeated Stephanie Mueller (Texas Tech) 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) to win the Flight #5 singles division. Then Flood teamed up with Kailey Meisinger to defeat Houston's own Annie Rapp and Karine Urbin 8-6 to win the Flight #2 doubles division.

Rapp finished fifth in Flight #4 singles after losing to Mariana Barrios (Tulsa) 6-1, 6-4 in the opening round. She rallied back to beat Adriana Boykova (UTEP) 6-3, 6-0 and Nadia Vaughn (SMU) 6-2, 6-1 to claim the consolation bracket. Sonnia Orellana (Texas Tech) went on to win the division when she defeated Barrios 6-3, 6-4.

The Cougars are back in tournament action November 3-6 when they travel to College Station to play in the Rolex Regional.
