Singles & Doubles Draws Set for Alonti Cougar Fall Draw

In its final action of the fall season and its first at home, the University of Houston tennis team will host the 2009 Alonti Cougar Fall Draw this weekend at John E. Hoff Courts. Freshman Bryony Hunter is in flight A and plays Audrey Chelini from Southeastern Louisiana University at 8:30 a.m. After recently qualifying for the ITA Regional tournament, junior Joanna Kacprzyk will compete in flight B and receives a bye in round one. Kacprzyk will play the winner of Morgane Dadot, (SELU), and Angelika Jogasuris, from University of Akron. Freshman Maja Kazimieruk, who also qualified for the ITA Regional tournament, will compete in flight C with junior Laura Ring. Kazimieruk will play at 10 a.m. against Anya Baronayte from UA. Ring will also play at 10 a.m. against Nina Schmied from SELU. Senior Neila Starratt and junior Elena Kazakova will both play in flight D. Kazakova will play at 10 a.m. against Alice Pacaut from Stephen F. Austin, while Starratt plays Jeremie Benjamin from UA at 11:30 a.m. Freshman Alexandra Pickerill will line up against Kwynn Biggs from McNeese State University, at 11:30 a.m. in flight E. Doubles will also take place and will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. In doubles flight A, Hunter and Kacprzyk will play Martie Wahl and Belisa de Brito from University of Tennessee at Martin. Ring and Kazimieruk are seeded No. 1 in doubles flight B, and will play Caroline Gerber and Marcela Fonseca from Tulane University in round one. In doubles flight C, Starratt will team up with Kazakova to play against Landry and Stevenson from Lee College. Pickerill will team up with University of Southern Miss' Frances Askew and will play Kwynn Biggs and Inga Efimenko from MSU.
