Houston, Texas - Sarah Borwell is the strength within the Cougar tennis team. Last season she competed as the number one player for the Cougars. She used her strong work ethic and 100 MPH serve to dominate her opponents. In the fall rankings just released in 2001 Borwell is now ranked #8 in the nation.

The most important factor that boosted her ranking to the top 10 was her qualification for the Rolex National Indoor Tournament, one of three neational events durig the year.

Borwell advanced to the quarterfinalsof the National Tournament to finish the fall and will resume play in the spring along woth her Cougar teammates. The matches are against Southwest Texas and UT Pan American and will take place on the John E. Hoff Tennis Courts on the campus of the University of Houston.
