Houston Netters Defeated on the Road






TAMPA, Florida (March 18) -- Playing in only its third conference match this season, the UH women's tennis team fell 3-6 to Conference USA rival South Florida, who came in ranked 38th in the nation. This loss came on the heels of back-to-back victories for the Lady Cougars, and Houston's record now stands at 6-7.

South Florida won four of the singles matches, although Houston's Galina Seliounina and Joanna Cunliffe fought hard to pull out victories at the number one and three positions. South Florida took the remaining three singles spots in straight sets.

In doubles, Houston managed its sole win at number two, where the duo of Joanna Cunliffe and Jen Baccarani won 8-4 over Genevieve Houle and Jackie Spicijaric.

The Lady Cougars play again on Saturday, March 18, vs. Miami at 11:00 a.m.
