Lady Cougars Lose Second Straight in Tampa






TAMPA, Florida (March 18) -- The Lady Cougars fought hard against the number 48th ranked Miami, but in the end the Hurricanes proved to be too much as Houston lost its second straight match 4-5 on the road in Florida.

Houston stole only two victories in singles play where Galina Seliounina and Annie Rapp defeated their opponents Meredith Laughlin and Igne De Villiers in straight sets.

In doubles, the Lady Cougars also won two as Galina Seliounina and Mette Sigmundstad defeated Igne De Villiers and Marcy Hora 8-4. Joanna Cunliffe and Jen Baccarani also defeated Alanna Broderick and Eva Jimenez by a score of 8-4.

The Cougars are back in action March 24 when they host Drake at 2:00p.m. at the UH Varsity Courts.
