    Sophomore Lauren Smith won the 200 meters and finished third in the 60-meter hurdles at the Oklahoma Track Classic on Saturday, January 20.

    Smith won the200 meters in a time of 24.74 seconds and had a time of 8.53 seconds when she finished third in the 60-meter hurdles.

    It was the first itme in her career that Smith competed in the 200 meters during her UH career.

    Meanwhile, defending Conference USA champion Theodoesha Boxill finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 57.42 seconds. It was the first time that Boxill has run in a 400-meter race this season after she opened the 2001 indoor campaign winning the 200 meters at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational on January 12.

    The Lady Cougars will compete in the Southwest Indoor Classic on January 26-27 at the Yeoman Field House on the UH campus.
