SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 23) -- University of Houston senior Jenny Adams finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 12.98 seconds at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Sacramento, Calif. on Sunday, July 23.

Adams, who was one of two collegiate hurdles in the finals, advanced to the race earlier in the day with a time of 12.90 seconds in the semifinals. She also was the only collegian to advance to the finals of the long jump at the U.S. Olympic Trials with and finished eighth with a leap of 21 feet, 2 1/2 inches.

Her showing at the U.S. Olympic Trials concluded an outstanding outdoor campaign for Adams, who was the NCAA Outdoor Champion in the long jump and finished second at the NCAA Championships in the 100-meter hurdles after she broke her own school records during the outdoor season.

Adams was one of five Cougars who competed in the Olympic Trials. Her teammate, senior Ifoma Jones, competed in the high jump, while former All-Americans Sandra Glover, Dawn Burrell and Michele Collins will compete in the Olympics Games for the United States.

Glover won the 400-meter hurdles, while Burrell was second in the long jump and Collins was third in the 400 meters.
