Answered the call to play a bigger role in the team's setting schemes with good results...was the team's starting setter on opening day against Texas-Arlington, helping lead the team to a 3-1 win...passed out 28 assists while recording three kills in three attempts, six defensive digs and three blocks in pacing UH to the opening day victory over the Mavericks...played in 23 matches overall and in 45 of the team's 118 games...posted a career-high 32 assists in three games played against Conference USA rival UAB...recorded 10 or more assists in a match five times, including 13 against NCAA Tournament-bound Louisville...twice tallied a season-high 11 digs vs. league foes South Florida and Southern Miss...served three aces in a win over crosstown rival Rice...converted on a pair of kills in three attempts against Memphis.

Earned all-District 24-5A honors at Clear Creek High School after compiling 453 assists, 94 kills and 30 service aces as a senior in 1998...selected as the team's top offensive player...served as captain for the Wildcats... coached by Tammy Laurence...named to the district all-academic team...outstanding student who scored a 1290 on the SAT...also earned varsity letters for basketball and softball...experienced club volleyball player who was a member of both the South Shore and NASA Juniors teams...was coached on the NASA Juniors by former Cougar great Debbie Vokes.
PERSONAL Born on October 23, 1980, in Webster, Texas...parents are Mike and Jane Sellen...business major... likes to play softball and work out in spare time...chose to attend Houston because "of the good business school and volleyball program close to home"...nicknamed "Big D."
