HOUSTON -- Four University of Houston Volleyball players finished with double-digit kills as Team White defeated Team Red, 4-1 (22-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-13, 15-12), on Saturday afternoon inside Athletics/Alumni Center.

"Today was really fun," Head Coach Kaddie Platt said. "Anytime you can get in front of a bunch of people, it makes it a little more competitive. We saw a lot of scrappy plays, which were fun to see.

"Our middles did a good job of getting up and available. We also had some tough serves and scrappy defense, and all those are great things to build on."

The Cougars focused on team systems, while the coaching staff rotated several different lineups between the two teams to evaluate teamwork and compatibility.

TEAM WHITE TAKEAWAYS
• Seniors Sarah Afflerbaugh and Brianna Gardner led the way for Team White with 12 kills apiece. Gardner also tallied a match-high six blocks, while senior outside hitter Brianna Lynch issued five denials at the net.
• Setters Abby Irvine and Keandra McCardell spearheaded the offense with 26 and 17 assists, respectively.
• Sophomore libero Katie Karbo anchored the back row with a match-high 45 digs.

TEAM RED TAKEAWAYS
• Freshman outside hitter Silvia Pertens highlighted Team Red's offense with a match-high 15 kills, while sophomore Faith Squier recorded 12 kills.
• Junior setter Katie Krebs amassed a match-high 30 assists, while McCardell posted a double-double with a 12-assist, 11-dig effort.
• Defensive specialists Kylie Napoleon and Abby Giles finished with 16 and 11 digs, respectively.
