Houston, TX - The University of Houston volleyball team moved to an even 2-2 with a thre-games-to-one win over Samford in its final match at the Crowne Plaza/Rice Invitational Saturday afternoon across town at Autry Court.

Cougar All-America candidate Jennifer Wittenburg led all players with 26 kills, 22 defensive digs and three blocks to pace Houston to a 30-25, 25-30, 30-19, 30-17 victory. After dropping its first two matches of the season at the tournament, UH bounced back to an even 2-2 record with Saturday wins over tourney host Rice and Samford (0-4).

Houston junior Jenny Tanneberger spiked 15 kills and hit for a .438 percentage with three blocks.

UH will next meet Washington State at the Wildcat Classic on Friday, September 7, in Manhattan, Kansas.
