FORT WORTH - With 13 total team blocks, Ole Miss swept the University of Houston volleyball team in three sets (13-25, 12-25, 13-25) Saturday afternoon during the TCU Nike/Molten Invitational.
The Rebels had 24 block assists, half coming in the second set. The Cougars also committed 28 hitting errors in the three sets, the most this season by the team.
Defensively, Houston dug out more balls than the Rebels. Defensive specialist Olivia O'Dell led the team with seven digs. Junior Natalie Keck served as libero for the Cougars for the first two sets. O'Dell switched jerseys and took over the libero role in the final set, digging out more balls to save the Cougar defense.
Houston closes out tournament play with a match against Stephen F. Austin at 5 p.m. Next weekend, the Cougars return to the Athletic/Alumni Center for the season home opener while hosting the 2013 Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup Sept. 20-21.
