Volleyball falls to UT Texas 3, Houston 0

The University of Houston volleyball team fell in three games Friday night to the University of Texas Longhorns at Gregory Gym in Austin, Texas.

The Cougars fell to 4-10 on the season and will not play again until October 3, when they open Conference USA play at Southern Miss.

Houston dropped game one of the match 30-20 and was tied 16-16 in game two before the Longhorns used a 9-4 run to pull away and take the game 30-23. In game three Texas pulled away from a 19-19 tie winning 11 of the next 14 points to finish the match 30-22.

The Longhorn had four players finish with double digit kills Friday night, while the Cougars had no players finish with more than nine. Kelly McAnelly finished with nine kills while Cinthia Piva, Mary Cates and Loure Dews all finished with eight.
