Volleyball Signs Middle Blocker Hunter Wise to NLI

HOUSTON — The University of Houston Volleyball program has announced that Fairmount, Indiana native Hunter Wise has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the 2013 Cougars under head coach Kaddie Platt.
“Hunter will provide much needed depth in the middle position for our 2013 squad,” Platt said. “She comes from a great club program and has showcased the ability to play at a high level and on championship-caliber teams. We are excited for her arrival and look forward to seeing her progress as a Cougar.”

·      Four-year letterwinner for the Madison-Grant High School Argylls
·      Helped lead the team to a 127-18 record in her four seasons (2009-12)
·      Set school record for matches won with 127
·      Helped team win Conference and County Championships in all four seasons
·      Named to the Indiana All-State Team three times (twice 1st team, once 2nd team)
·      Was named Grant County Player of the Year twice
·      Broke the all-time school record in blocks with 453
·      Second all-time in kills (1,980) and aces (201) in school history
·      Played for head coach Robert Holloway in high school
·      Played her club volleyball for Munciana
·      Member of the National Honor Society, Science Club, FCA and French Club
·      Honored with the Scholastic Award
Wise is the daughter of Brian and Brenda Wise, and has two siblings, sister Bailee and brother Tanner.
Wise joins outside hitter Sarita Mikals as the second member of the 2013 recruiting class. Houston returns 13 players to the court for head coach Kaddie Platt’s second season.
