![]() Winners of 11 of its last 12 regular season games, Houston propelled into second place in the C-USA regular season race and eventually went on to claim the C-USA Tournament title with a 3-0 weekend sweep of Memphis, Saint Louis and Cincinnati at Hofheinz Pavilion. The tournament title was the first for the program since joining C-USA in 1996. The Cougars postseason run began in Palo Alto, Calif., facing Oklahoma, but would end in a 3-0 loss. |

![]() Houston put together one of the most successful seasons in C-USA in 1999, notching the Regular Season title with a 13-3 league record to advance to the NCAA Tournament in Austin, Texas. The Cougars won 16 of 17 from Sept. 16-Nov. 7, which included eight 3-0 sweeps en route to a strong finish and share of the regular season crown. Houston would eventually fall 3-0 to No. 15 Texas in the Austin - NCAA Tournament to end its season with a 22-10 overall record. |
