Brandy Huskey Joins Houston Volleyball Staff

Huskey will assist the coaching staff with travel, special events, equipment, and all positions of training.
“It’s great to be able to mentor a young, driven coach like Brandy,” Platt said. “She will have a lot of opportunity for growth and behind-the-scenes experience and will be a valuable addition to our staff.”
Last season, Huskey was the starting setter for the Roadrunners and helped the team to its first ever Conference USA championship. UTSA went on to play in the first round of the NCAA tournament for the third time in school history.
After transferring in for her junior season, Huskey instantly became the starting setter. She started in all 30 matches and picked up 1,176 assists and 306 digs.
Prior to UTSA, Huskey played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Texas Tech. She was a versatile player appearing in 15 matches her freshman year as a defensive specialist.
Huskey is a native of Columbus, Texas. She comes from a family of athletes. one of her sisters played volleyball at UTSA, her father was a student-athlete at University of St. Thomas and mother was also a student-athlete at Texas Woman's University.
She graduated from UTSA in May with a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.
