HOUSTON - The University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2007 Volleyball promotions schedule today. Highlighting the home stand include Volleyball Camp Reunion night, Aug 31 against Texas, and Little Coog Night, Sept. 13 against Rice.
To kick off the 2007 season, the Cougars will host Texas-Arlington with City of Houston Appreciation Night. All city of Houston employees will be invited to cheer on the Cougars with free admission.
When the Cougars host Texas on Aug. 31, all volleyball campers will receive free admission to the Volleyball Camp Reunion with their camp T-shirt and will be recognized between games two and three. Tickets for all fans will be just $2.
At Cougar Gear Night, Sept. 5, all Cougar fans are encouraged to wear UH sportswear and the first 100 fans will receive a volleyball keychain. Little Coogs and community outreach groups will receive free admission Sept. 13 to Little Coogs Night when UH hosts cross-town rival Rice.
The Cougars will host the Houston Tournament Sept. 14-15. Come help support the Cougars against Stephen F. Austin and Wake Forest in Red Rage days. Wear red and the first 50 fans to each match will receive a free t-shirt.
Cheerleading teams and individuals are invited to attend Cheerleader Day on Sept. 23 against Southern Miss. With the purchase of a general admission ticket, cheerleaders can attend a free pre-match cheerleading clinic hosted by the UH Cheerleaders.
The weekend of Oct. 12 will honor Houston students. High school students are invited to come out and support the Cougars on Oct. 12 against Tulane and the first 100 students will receive a free volleyball keychain. Elementary and middle school students are invited to the UTEP match on Oct. 14. A free pre-match volleyball clinic will be held prior to the match with the purchase of a general admission ticket.
On Oct. 26,Boy Scout Night, the first 75 boy scouts wearing their shirts will receive a free "Boy Scout Night" badge and tickets for all boy scouts will be $2. Girl Scouts will have their night on Oct. 28 for the Girl Scout Night and the Halloween Celebration. The first 75 girl scouts wearing their sashes will receive a free "Girl Scout Night" badge and tickets will be $2. Prizes will also be given out to the best Halloween costumes between games one and two.
Volleyball Club Night will be on Nov. 9 when the Cougars host SMU. Club volleyball teams and the YMCA Boys and Girls Club will be invited to attend. The first 100 to arrive at the game will receive Cougar mini-volleyballs.
Houston will conclude their home schedule Nov. 11 against Tulsa with Veterans Day and Senior Day. Military personnel will be invited to help cheer on the Cougars and will be honored between games two and three. Tickets will be $2 to anyone that presents a military card. Seniors will also be honored prior to the start of the match.
General admission tickets will be available for $5 prior to the start of each match. All UH students will be admitted fee with a Cougar 1 ID card.
