Kadi Kullerkann Named to Volleyball Preseason Team

HOUSTON - Redshirt junior outside hitter Kadi Kullerkann has been selected to the American Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Team, the league staff announced Tuesday morning.
Kullerkann was an instrumental player last season and was named to the All-American Athletic Conference Second Team for the inaugural season.
The Estonian native saw action in all 33 matches last season, starting in 23. She picked up 309 kills, averaging 2.64 per set and putting up 357 points for the Cougars. He season hitting average was a .213 and she recorded 84 total blocks on the net.
Houston Volleyball was selected to finish seventh in the American Athletic Conference coaches’ poll standings for the 2014 season. The ranking is higher than last seasons preseason poll position. The Cougars finished 5th overall with a conference record of 10-8.
SMU, the American runner up last season, was picked to win the conference title this season. UCF, who finished third last season, was selected as the runner-up for this season followed by new-coming team Tulane.

Houston kicks off the 2014 season at home as they host the Houston Cougar Classic Aug. 29-30. The Cougars take on Lamar at 4 p.m. on Friday and then face Texas State at 11 a.m. and Wake Forest at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
