Calling All Cougar Volleyball Alumnae!
HOUSTON (Aug. 24) -- The University of Houston volleyball team will play its annual varsity-alumnae match on Saturday, August 26, at 1:00 p.m. in Hofheinz Pavilion.
The match will be the first look at the 2000 Cougar team and Preseason Conference USA Player of the Year honoree Michelle Frazier. Frazier, a 5-foot-11 middle hitter from Kingwood, Texas, was tabbed as the league's Preseason Player of the Year on a vote of the C-USA head coaches after finishing the 1999 season as the only player ranked in the conference's Top 10 for hitting, blocking and serving. She is one of the team's five returning starters and nine letterwinners from last season's 21-11 team that won the C-USA National Division and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Saturday's match is not only a chance to prepare for the season opener
versus Texas-Arlington (Sept. 1 in Hofheinz Pavilion), the current varsity
will meet the schools former players - on and off the court.
