KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- University of Houston senior hitter Bobbi Stewart earned the Most Valuable Player Award of the TOYOTA Lady Vol Classic Tournament in Knoxville, on Saturday, September 9, after leading UH to the team title.

The Houston native from Dobie High School averaged 4.73 kills per game and spiked a season-high 20 kills against previously undefeated and defending ACC champion North Carolina. Stewart also tallied 19 against host Tennessee less than 24 hours before on Friday night. She led the team in attack attempts (155), hit a composite .239, recorded 16 defensive digs, made six blocks and served at least one ace in all three weekend matches.

Cougar senior hitter Michelle Frazier was also named to the all-tournament team. The Houston volleyball team will next be in action at the Arkansas invitational this weekend.
