HOUSTON - The University of Houston volleyball team will close out their home slate this weekend when they face off against Marshall and East Carolina on Oct. 30-31 at the Athletics/Alumni Center.

Both matches are scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and fans not in attendance can follow all the action through Gametracker and live video streaming by going to the volleyball schedule page at UHCougars.com.

The weekend begins on Friday against Marshall. The Thundering Herd are 19-5 on the season and 7-3 in Conference USA. They currently sit in a tie for fourth place in the league standings. This will be the first time the two teams have met this season and Houston trails the all-time series 1-4 after dropping a three-set match in 2008.

The first 100 Boy and Girl scouts in attendance on Friday will receive a UH badge and there will be $1 admission for all fans. During the match, former players will be honored for an alumni reunion.

The home slate will then conclude with Senior Night on Oct. 31 against East Carolina. Kinsey Cave, Alik Cardoso de Sa and Erin Rice will be honored prior to the contest. The Pirates are 9-14 overall and 2-9 in league action. They are currently in 11th place in league standings. Houston is 8-1 in the all-time series against East Carolina after sweeping the Pirates last season.

Houston stands at 7-19 on the year and 4-7 in C-USA, for eighth place in the standings after dropping matches at Tulsa and SMU last weekend.

Following this weekend's action UH will close out the regular season with three road matches, beginning at UTEP on Nov. 6, continuing with Tulane on Nov. 8 and concluding with Rice on Nov. 12 at Autry Court. The Conference USA Championship will be held at Rice on Nov. 20-22.
