HOUSTON -The University of Houston volleyball team is winding down the 2011 regular season and will play host to SMU and Tulsa this weekend for two of the team's final five matches. Houston opens the weekend against SMU at 7 p.m., Friday before closing out the weekend against Tulsa at 1 p.m.

Houston enters the weekend with a 17-8 record and a 10-5 mark in Conference USA play. The Cougars are currently in a three-way tie for second place with UAB and Rice in the league standings.
Charuk leads the team with 315 kills and a league-best .403 hitting percentage. She also has 133 blocks, averaging 1.34 per set. Freshman Caitlin Ogletree took home C-USA Setter of the Week honors last week for the fourth time this season. She leads the team with 1,089 assists and 25 service aces.
Houston will host a rematch with the Mustangs after falling 3-2 in their first meeting this season in Dallas. The Cougars are 10-8 all-time against SMU.
SMU is 12-15 this season and 8-7 in C-USA play after splitting matches with Southern Miss last weekend. Jessica Oliver and Dana Powell lead the team with 328 and 301 kills, respectively. Kelli Becerra has a team-high 830 assists and Sidney Stewart paces the team with 547 digs.
Tulsa is 23-5 this season and 14-1 in C-USA action. The Golden Hurricane lost a 3-1 match to SMU on Oct. 5 and has gone on a 10-match wins streak since the loss. Tulsa swept the Cougars earlier this season in Oklahoma.
Tyler Henderson leads the team with 473 kills and a .354 hitting percentage. Jordan Clampitt has a team-high 796 assists and Jessica Adams' 475 digs are a team high.
Houston is 5-7 all-time against the Golden Hurricane.
The Cougars will play the final three matches of the regular season. Houston travels to Tulane, Nov. 18 and Southern Miss, Nov. 20, before closing out the regular season against Rice, Nov. 23, at the Athletics/Alumni Center.
