University of Houston senior outside hitter Jennifer Wittenburg was named to the All-Midwest Region Team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Thursday, December 7. As an AVCA all-region honoree, Wittenburg is also officially a candidate for All-America honors.

The senior a former standout from Cy Falls High School in Houston was among the top five in the nation in kills and digs this season, averaging 6.16 kills and 4.17 digs per game. Despite sitting out three weeks of the season with an injured foot, she still earned first team All-Conference USA and C-USA All-Tournament honors for leading the Cougars to a 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and the program's 11th overall. Houston, 21-11, is one of only 12 schools in the country that has been to 10 straight NCAA Tournaments.
