Loyola Marymount Tops UH Volleyball Team, 3-0

    LOS ANGELES, CA (September 11) -- Five different hitters from Loyola Marymount hit for a .333 percentage or better as LMU defeated the University of Houston volleyball team three games to none in the finale of the Lions' invitational tournament late Saturday night in Los Angeles, California.

    Loyola Marymount All-America candidate Sarah McFarland spiked 27 kills with a .364 percentage as LMU rolled to a 15-10, 15-4, 15-9 win. Houston was paced by senior middle hitter Jillian King's 10 kills and .400 perecentage. With the loss, the team's third in a row on the west coast trip, the Cougars fell to 3-4 on the year. UH will next play nationally ranked Texas on the road in Austin on Tuesday, September 14. First serve will be at 7:00 p.m.
