COUGAR VOLLEYBALL TEAM DEFEATS SAINT LOUIS 3-1

HOUSTON (Oct. 3) -- The University of Houston volleyball team remained undefeated in Conference USA volleyball action by beating league rival Saint Louis three games to one Sunday afternoon in Hofheinz Pavilion.

With the 15-11, 15-10, 12-15, 15-5 win, the Cougars improved to a perfect 5-0 in C-USA play and 10-5 overall with the teams seventh-consecutive win. Houston junior Bobbi Stewarts season-high 19 kills led all players in the match, including five UH players in double-figures. Stewart, a standout from Dobie High School in Houston, also hit for a .351 percentage with 12 defensive digs and a pair of blocks.

It was only the third loss of the season for Saint Louis, now 16-3. The Billikens were paced by true freshman Colleen Hunters 15 kills and .265 percentage. Saint Louis fell to 3-2 in conference.

Houston will next be in action at home in Hofheinz Pavilion on Friday, night, October 8, against C-USA foe UAB. First serve will be at 7:30 p.m.
