Houston Volleyball Team Defeats Memphis, 3-1

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 29) -- The University of Houston women's volleyball team defeated Memphis in a Conference USA National Division match by a score of three games to one Friday night in Memphis, Tenn.

    Junior outside hitter Stephanie Heiskell led all players with a career-high 20 kills, a career-high five blocks and hit for a .326 percentage to pace Houston to a 15-8, 15-2, 14-16, 15-6 win. Junior hitter Bobbi Stewart spiked 19 kills with a .357 percentage and a career-high 22 defensive digs to help the Cougars improved to 15-6 on the year and a C-USA leading 10-1 in league play.

    Memphis, which suffered its seventh-straight loss, fell to 8-19 overall and 1-11 in conference action. The Tigers were led by senior Rosie Glenn's 19 kills and 13 digs.

    Houston completes its C-USA road trip with a league match at UAB on Sunday, October 31. First with the Blazers will be at 2:00 p.m.
