Morgan Janda moved into the Houston Athletics Cougar Pride development department as Assistant Director of Development in the fall of 2024 after serving as the Director of Operations for the Cougars Women's Volleyball program.
Janda had previously joined the Cougars in 2022 as a setter after transferring from Sam Houston. In two years with Houston, she became a critical part of Rehr’s 6-2 rotation, amassing 1,258 assists in 212 sets. A two-sport student-athlete, Janda also competed with the Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field teams in 2024.
Overall, Janda played in 136 matches over five seasons, tallying 3,474 assists and 1,118 digs. She also added 143 kills, 103 aces and 32 blocks.
Janda led the team with 758 assists in 2022 and finished second with 527 assists in 2023. Across the two seasons in H-Town, she posted 10 double-doubles and led the Cougars in single-match assists 37 times.
She helped Houston to 49 wins and two NCAA tournament appearances as well as an American Athletic Conference regular-season championship in 2022. She was a key part of the team’s 2022 run to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, the team’s furthest trip in the Tournament since 1994, in the program’s first dance since 2000.
Prior to joining Houston, she was a two-sport student-athlete at Sam Houston. She earned 2021 All-WAC Second-Team honors while helping the Bearkats to a regular season WAC title in 2021. Janda also received All-Southland Conference Second-Team accolades in 2020-21 and was an All-Tournament Team selection at the 2020-21 Southland Tournament.
Janda graduated in spring 2024 with her master’s degree in sports and fitness administration. She previously earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Sam Houston.
