Cougar Soccer Opens League Competition This Weekend

The University of Houston women's soccer team kicks off action against league opponents in its seventh season as a member of Conference USA this coming weekend with matches slated at Tulane and Southern Miss.
Houston travels to New Orleans to play the Green Wave on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:00pm, and then to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face the Southern Miss Golden Eagles on Sunday, Sept. 26, at 1:00pm.
Following this weekend, Houston returns home with C-USA matches against Saint Louis (Oct. 1) and Memphis (Oct. 3), before heading back on the road for four straight games, at TCU (Oct. 8), SMU (Oct. 10), DePaul (Oct. 15) and Marquette (Oct. 17). The Cougars round out the 2004 regular season with three league matches at Robertson Stadium, playing host to USF (Oct. 22), UAB (Oct. 24) and Charlotte (Oct. 29). The annual C-USA Tournament, of which Houston has participated in five of its first six years in the league, is set for Nov. 3-6 in St. Louis , Mo.
The Cougars have posted a 33-25-7 record in 65 regular-season contests against C-USA foes.
Houston enters league action with a 3-5-0 mark in its first eight games of the 2004 season.
