HOUSTON - The University of Houston soccer team opens up Conference USA play this weekend as they face off against Marshall and East Carolina at Robertson Stadium.
The Cougars are on a roll having won four of their last five in route to a 5-2-1 record and the best start in the programs history.
Last time out, the Cougars blasted Nicholls State, 10-0 on Tuesday, September 20 at Robertson Stadium. Jennifer Dry, Sophia Mundy, and Brittney Pfeiffer each had two goals in the rout of the Colonels.
Mundy comes into Friday's game against the Thundering Herd as one of the nations offensive leaders. She is currently one of only six players in the country to score at least four goals in a single game. In addition, Mundy is also one of only 10 players to score at least eight points in a match.
The Katy native is tied for 14th in goals and 17th in points per game. Mundy's offensive explosion has helped propel the Cougars to 4th place in the NCAA averaging goals per game.
The first match of the weekend is today at 7 p.m. against Marshall (1-7). UH closes out the weekend at 1 p.m. this Sunday against East Carolina (4-6).
