HOUSTON - Senior outside hitter Kadi Kullerkann was selected to First Team All-American Athletic Conference for her outstanding season with Houston Volleyball.
She was selected to the team by a unanimous decision by all 11 coaches in the conference.
"We are so incredibly proud of Kadi and her performance this year," Head Coach Kaddie Platt said. "Kadi has put Houston Volleyball in the national spotlight with her efforts this season. She is a testament to what hard work and determination will do for a student-athlete. She came to practice daily with the intention of improving as a volleyball player and teammate. She is one of the most coachable players I have coached.
"Kadi is an amazing person and I am blessed to have coached her and will miss her greatly. We are thankful for her dedication to the Houston program."
Kullerkann closed out the season leading the conference with 644 kills, averaging 5.03 per set. She also ranked third in the nation for total kills and total attacks and is fifth in the nation for kills per set. Kullerkann stands third in kills for a single season in school history and is now the conference record holder for the most kills and kills per set in a single season.
The Estonian native played in all 32 matches this season, only missing one set. She recorded double-digit kills in all 32 matches and led the team with a hitting average of .274.
This season, Kullerkann tallied 686.5 points, averaging 5.36 per set, to lead the conference. Her average ranks eighth nationally.
The 37-kill performance in a five-set victory over Texas A&M Corpus-Christi (Sept. 19) is the second best showing by any Division I athlete this season. Kullerkann wrote herself into the conference record books as she broke the record for the most kills in a match.
