EL PASO, Texas â€" For the second straight round, University of Houston senior Blair Hamilton posted a 75 to finish in a tie for 14th with a score of 220 at the prestigious Western Refining All-America Classic on Sunday afternoon at El Paso Country Club.
Starting on No. 10, Hamilton overcame a tough start that saw him posted five bogeys and a double bogey in his first 12 holes. However, he rallied to close out his final six holes with a pair of birdies on the 6,889-yard layout.
Vanderbilt's Zach Jaworski captured the title after firing a Final-Round 67 to finish at 6-under-par 207. Teammate Matthias Schwab, USF's Claudio Correa and Zach Wright of LSU tied for second at 209 with Texas' Beau Hossler and Adrian Meron of East Tennessee State tying for fifth at 211.
Hamilton became eligible for the tournament when he was named a PING All-America Honorable Mention following the 2014-15 season.
ABOUT Blair Hamilton

After tying for 15th at the season-opening Northern Intercollegiate, Hamilton has improved his final finish at each tournament, including a fourth-place showing at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic to help the Cougars rally from a 17-stroke deficit entering the Final Round and clinch the team championship on Oct. 13.
A year ago, the Burlington, Ontario, Canada native captured the first individual title of his career at the Border Olympics and shared the title at the NCAA Lubbock Regional, becoming only the second Cougar to win a Regional individual championship.
