Houston Falls Short Against No. 10 UCF

HOUSTON. â€" The Houston Soccer team dropped it first home match of season in a 4-0 decision to No. 10/21 UCF, Thursday evening at the Carl Lewis Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Houston wasn't able to counteract the UCF offense, giving up four goals in the opening frame. The Knights racked up 22 shots, including 15 shots on goal.
The Houston defense held Central Florida scoreless after the break, holding UCF to seven shots in the second period. Jazmin Grant, Julissa DePaoli, and Kaitlyn Wild each recorded shots, led by Grant with two.
Rachel Estopare and Kate Godfrey each spent time in goal for Houston. Estopare collected eight saves, while Godfrey collected three.
FRESHMAN DEBUT
- Godfrey made her first appearance in goal for Houston, racking up three saves in 47 minutes.
OTHER NOTABLES
- Houston falls to 5-5-1 on the season and 1-2-0 in conference play.
- The Cougars now trail the all-time series with UCF
