Nuñez Announces Leadership Changes in Athletics Department

HOUSTON – University of Houston Vice President for Athletics, Eddie Nuñez, announced several new roles within his leadership team on Thursday.
"I have had the pleasure of leading this department for just over a year now and have taken the necessary time and effort to not rush these decisions. During that time, I have strategically reorganized and promoted from within to continue our push to strive for excellence every day as a department. These promotions highlight the relentless commitment to leadership and modernization in our field and they confirm the decision to elevate the staff members we have at this great University."
Alvin Franklin has been promoted to Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Chief Revenue Officer. In this new role, he will oversee all revenue generation initiatives including the Cougar Pride office, ticket office and sports properties team. He will work alongside Senior Deputy Athletics Director Dave Williams for all NIL and roster management initiatives.
Lauren DuBois has been promoted to Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Governance and Regulatory Affairs. In this new leadership role, she will help oversee NIL management and execution of the department's revenue sharing agreements and roster management initiatives. She will continue to lead the compliance and certification team while ensuring the department adheres by all state, local, federal and NCAA rules and regulations.
Jason Bauman has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Management Operations overseeing and leading the operations of Houston's athletics facilities, directing the game management for the department, and serves as the point of contact for special events held in Houston's athletics facilities.
Brandon Maddux has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations and will continue to oversee the human resources, business operations and equipment operations teams.
Monty Porter will continue to serve as Deputy Athletics Director but will now be the department's Chief Financial Officer.
Fletcher Like has been promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Strategic Communications. In this role, he leads the strategic communications efforts for the athletics department, acts as the spokesperson for the department and oversees the communications and social media team.
