Houston Volleyball Comeback Falls Short to Tulsa

| HOUSTON - Senior outside hitter Kadi Kullerkann's 25-kill performance wasn't enough as the cougars fell in four sets (21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25) to Tulsa on Halloween night.
Houston dropped to 11-12 on the season, 3-8 in the American Athletic Conference while Tulsa improved to 14-8, 6-5 in conference play.
After dropping two sets to start the match, the Cougars came back with a 25-22 win in set three. As a team, Houston put up four blocks and hit .257 against the Hurricane. Junior transfer Chyla Thomas had a huge save over the net followed by a solo block to score for the Cougars.
Kullerkann led the Cougars with 25 kills, hitting .283. She was also fierce on defense as she tallied two service aces, four digs and two blocks. Senior right side Cortney Warren followed with 18 kills (.342 hitting average) and two blocks.
Defensive specialist Olivia O'Dell led the back row with 18 digs, tying her career high. Senior libero Natalie Keck followed with 15. She is now five digs away from sole possession of second place all-time in career digs.

Houston hosts in-state rival SMU for a match on Sunday at 1 p.m. This match will serve as the Coogs for the Cure: Dig Pink Match. Fans are encouraged to wear pink.
