Natalie Anderson's late goal ties first of two games in Colorado
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Houston soccer team hustled its way to a 2-2 stalemate with Air Force, after 110 minutes of action at the Cadet Soccer Stadium in Colorado Springs Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cougars will remain in Colorado and take on Colorado College Sept. 16 with a start time of 2:30 p.m. CT.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Air Force got on the board early, knocking in a shot inside the 23rd minute.
- The Cougars would remain aggressive throughout the opening frame, earning a corner kick inside the 28th minute. Mia Brascia launched a ball into the middle of the box that would glide off the head of an Air Force defender for an own goal to tie the match.
- A foul inside the box on the Air Force end of the field would culminate in a penalty kick that would give the Falcons a 2-1 advantage at the break.
- With 14 minutes left in regulation Jazmin Grant would split a pair of Air Force defenders, connecting with Natalie Anderson on a cross. Anderson fired the ball and tied the match 2-2.
- Both teams would continue to find holes and get into scoring position in the two overtime periods that followed, eventually ending the match tied 2-2.
- Natalie Anderson's goal is the first of her career.
- Jazmin Grant's assist is the first of the season for the sophomore and the sixth of her career.
- Amy Nguyen led the Cougars in shots with four, two of which were on target.
- Samantha Cude played every minute in-goal for the Cougars, racking up five saves. Cude secured three huge saves in overtime to cut short Air Force scoring attempts.
- Although Houston was outshot 17-16, the Cougars were more efficient than the Falcons and racked up 11 on-target shots to the seven that Air Force recorded.
- Houston is now 4-4-1 overall this season and 1-4-1 on the road.
- This match marks the third in five matches that the Cougars have went to extra time.
- Houston is 1-1-1 in overtime matches this season and 1-3-2 in overtime matches under Head Coach Diego Bocanegra.
- The Cougars are now tied in the all-time series with Air Force 0-0-1
- Two freshmen have now scored goals this season.
- The Cougars are 4-0-1 when they score two or more goals.Â
