DALLAS - The University of Houston golf team wrap up its fall schedule Monday at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate at Royal Oaks Country Club.
The Cougars are part of an impressive field on the 7,068-yard, par-71 course, joining co-hosts Baylor and SMU, Army, defending two-time NCAA national champion Augusta State, Duke, Iowa, Lamar, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tulsa, Texas A&M and Missouri.
This will be the fourth and final fall event on the Cougars' schedule. Following the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, the Cougars do not return to competitive play until Feb. 13-14, 2012, when they open the spring campaign at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
"We have had some good individual performances this semester, but we really haven't had an event where all of our players put a good tournament together," said head coach Jonathan Dismuke, who is in his third season with the program. "With this being the last event for the fall, I would like to see a collaborative effort from all of our players."
The tournament begins with the first 36 holes Monday, starting at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start. The final 18 holes tee off holes No. 1 and No. 10 at 8:30 a.m.

THE LINEUP
As the Cougars prepare for Saturday's practice round, Dismuke was confident about this week's starting lineup.
"This is one of our best lineups. Each and every man has the potential to be very competitive as an individual, which obviously is critical for us as a team," Dismuke said. "This group has a lot of firepower and ability to shoot low scores."
Freshman Roman Robledo leads the Cougars with a 72.78 scoring average, four rounds of par or better and season-low round 66 during the first round of the Lone Star Invitational on Oct. 16.
Sophomores Jesse Droemer and Bryn Flanagan recently earned their way into the Cougars' starting lineup with their stellar play at the recent HBU Husky Invitational. Droemer finished third at that event with a score of 209, including a career-low 67 in the first round.
For his impressive performance, the Sealy, Texas, native was honored as the Conference USA Golfer of the Week, a first of his career.
Flanagan tied for seventh at the HBU Husky Invitational with a score of 216 and shot a 69 in the second round. With that effort, the Krugersdorp, South Africa, native moved into second among the Cougars with a 73.17 average.
Junior James Ross is tied with Droemer for second among the Cougars with three rounds of par or better. The Michigan State transfer also enjoyed the team's best individual finish of the fall season, placing second at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic.
Sophomore Curtis Reed competed in each of the first three tournaments of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
Droemer, Flanagan, junior Will Dusenbury and senior Eric Adler recently competed as individuals during the HBU Husky Invitational earlier this week. With only four student-athletes in the starting lineup, the Cougars did not register a score in the final team standings.
In their most recent team competition, the Cougars placed eighth at the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 16-18. Robledo posted back-to-back scores of 66-67 in the first two rounds on the way to a career-best fourth-place finish.
