Volleyball Back on Track with 3-1 Win over USF

TAMPA, Fla. - For the first time in 10 years, The University of Houston Volleyball defeated South Florida in four sets (19-25, 26-24, 31-29, 25-23) Sunday afternoon.
The last time Houston defeated USF was Oct. 30, 2004, when both teams were members of Conference USA. The Cougars swept the Bulls in the Athletics/Alumni Center before USF left for the Big East Conference.
Houston improved to 11-11 on the season, 3-7 in the American Athletic Conference while USF fell to 9-13, 3-7.
The Cougars dropped the first set, 25-19, as USF hit .325. But Houston didn't allow the Bulls to hit above .200 in the remaining sets.
Senior Kadi Kullerkann tallied 24 kills, two service aces, six digs and a block. She has recorded double-digit kills in 21 consecutive matches and marked her seventh 20-kill match in the last eight matches.
Senior Cortney Warren followed with 17 kills, hitting .227, while picking up four digs and three boards.
UP NEXT
Houston returns home for a two-match stand. The Cougars host Tulsa on Halloween Night (Oct. 31) for Shasta & Sasha's Spooktacular Halloween.
On Sunday, Houston hosts in-state rival SMU for a 1 p.m. match. This game will serve as the Coogs for the Cure: Dig Pink Match.
