DALLAS -- Heavy rain in the Dallas area this weekend forced the cancellation of the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, scheduled to begin Monday morning at Royal Oaks Country.
The Royal Oaks was to be the third and final tournament for the Cougars' fall season. Houston entered this week after sweeping the team and individual championships at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic on Oct. 13 at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas.
It was the Cougars' third team title this fall with junior Matt Dunn becoming the third different Cougar this fall to win an individual crown.
While the team now enters its winter break, senior All-American Blair Hamilton will compete as an individual at the Western Refining College All-America Classic. That tournament will be held Nov. 7-8 at El Paso Country Club in El Paso, Texas.
This marks the second straight season in which a Cougar will compete at this prestigious event. All-American Roman Robledo played during his senior season in 2014-15.
