
Cross Country Concludes Action at NCAA South Central Regional

Men place 13th, women’s squad takes 15th place
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Houston Cross Country team concluded the 2024 NCAA South Central Region Championships as the men's team finished 13th overall in the 10k and the women earned a 15th-place finish in the 6k on Friday morning at the Dale Watts 71' Cross Country Course.

In the women's 6k, freshman Cadence Patterson concluded her first cross country season as the top finisher for the women with a 66th-place finish (21.11.7).

Freshman AnnClaire Cop crossed the finish line second for the Cougars and 89th overall with a personal best time of 21.40.0.

Freshman Emily Pharris finished 102nd overall at 21.56.0, followed by a personal best of 21:58.2 by freshman Lily Campos for 107th place. Freshman Julia Shimel was the final Cougar to cross the finish line with her personal best time of 22:06.4 for 116th overall.

In the first 10k of the season, sophomore Aaron Crittenden led the men's side in 45th place at 31.06.5. Fifth-year Branch Cox was the second Cougar to cross the finish line with a time of 31.19.6 for 57th place.

Freshman Caden Thurman finished 63rd at 31.28.5 and freshman Zade Kayyali posted a mark of 31.40.5 for 71st overall. Sophomore Michael Archie rounded out the scoring for Houston in 92nd place at 32.09.9
