Key Innings
1st | Arizona grabbed an early lead in the weekend finale. With a runner on third, Kaiah Altmeyer singled home a run to put the Wildcats up by one. Later in the inning, Arizona expanded its lead as Stoddard hit a grand slam to claim a five-run edge.
Houston answered in the bottom of the inning. Two walks and a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases for sophomore Bethany Aguilar, who slipped a single into right field to drive home sophomore Jordee Wilkins to cut the deficit to four. A wild pitch in the next at-bat with the bases still loaded allowed Cintron to score, making the score 5-2.
6th | After adding a pair of runs across the third and fourth innings, Arizona picked up its eighth run of the game as Altmeyer scored on a fielder's choice.
7th | Houston capped the scoring in the seventh with Wells hitting a 228-foot homer to center field. The comeback came up short, giving the Wildcats a 8-3 win.
